The brief:
To establish our fashion obsession within Fashion Anthropology, and create a physical exhibition piece for this obsession. Investigating the relationship between identity and fashion, extending communication skills and sharpening knowledge of visual semiotics.
The response:
More Money Than Sense dissects the shallow consumerism of luxury items which arguably aren't worth their price tag. Our team created a look-book, recreating outfits from high-end brands on a budget and ultimately exposing the true value of the garments and how easily replicated they are. With this project, we wanted viewers to re-evaluate their buying habits and introspectively question why, as a society, we invest in luxury fashion.
